SONGS FOR A WINTER'S NIGHT
In 2010 Tully Council for the Arts introduced a new arts program to the Tully community that provided warmth, music, fabulous food, laughter and a place for friends to gather in the depths of winter's icy grip. This new tradition returns in 2012 when the coffeehouse series known as SONGS FOR A WINTER'S NIGHT once again fires up the coal stove in Tully's historic Train Depot on Sunday evenings in winter. Beginning January 1st, the depot will open at 6 PM for deliciouos coffeehouse fare for sale to eat in front of the roaring fire or carry out via snowmobilel, courtesy of Dave Earley and the Elm Strweet Cafe. At 6:30 the first of two music sets begins, one featuring a local Tully Artist or group, and the other welcoming an act from outside the area. There is no cover charge, and a splendid time is guaranteed for all.
The Coffeehouse will take place each Sunday evening excluding Superbowl Sunday, until the program culminates in the finale of the annual Ice Harvest the third weekend of February.
Come and celebrate our hardiness in the face of winter with friends old and new. The opening headliner this year will be the talented Dave Zawadski, making a triumphant return to the Depot. Grab some supper, participate in the coffeehouse traditions of Greeting the Train and Signing the Plank, and enjoy some fine music, all from your friendss at Tully Council for thd Arts.
If you are a musician and are interested in possibly playing at a cofffeehouse, please send an email to tullyartscouncil@gmail.com.
